Vice Mayor

The Vice Mayor is elected from the City Council members at the first meeting after new council members take office. The Vice Mayor steps in during the Mayor’s absence, disability, or suspension, and if a vacancy occurs, serves as Mayor until the council elects someone to complete the Mayor’s term. If the office of Vice Mayor becomes vacant, the council will select a new Vice Mayor to serve the remainder of the term.
