Atoka Municipal Airport

Atoka Municipal Airport

The objective of the project is to improve the runway to meet the Oklahoma Airport System Plan (OASP) Minimum Design Standards for a Basic Utility Stage II, District Airport.

The project will allow the City of Atoka to correct non-standard conditions within the Runway Safety Area. The widened and improved runway will initially meet design standards for a Design Group B-I (small airplanes exclusively) with additional obstruction removal actions to move toward eliminating the “small airplanes exclusively” restriction. Current items of work will include Safety Area improvements such as grading and obstruction (tree) removal to the north and northwest of the runway. The runway pavement is to be widened for a total width of 60 feet (Approximately 44 feet wide currently).
