With the recent economic crunch and shrinking municipal budgets, OMAG has created a matching grant program to assist municipalities in purchasing public works safety equipment. This kind of equipment is essential to protect workers and citizens while public works maintenance and repair operations are carried out.
The grants are awarded in October and April to OMAG member cities and towns that apply for the grant and are approved by OMAG's Risk Management Department. OMAG member cities and towns are the nearly 450 Oklahoma municipalities that participate in one of our municipal-specific insurance plans. The City of Atoka is one such municipality. OMAG has awarded the city a $1,000 grant towards the purchase of Public Works Safety Equipment.
OMAG's mission is to be the premier provider of risk financing and risk management for Oklahoma municipalities. We accomplish this every day by providing legal assistance, law enforcement training and worker safety loss control programs designed specifically for municipal operations. The safety grant program is just one of the tools we use to assist our municipalities. We're excited to award the City of Atoka this safety equipmnet grant!
